Safety in Private Aviation

Our very first priority

We at Cielo Aviation charter private jets only with certified operators as safety has always been our top priority. All aircraft comply with the highest safety standards with AIR OPS and Part 135 safety regulations to operate in full compliance with the EASA directives (European Union Aviation Safety Agency) or the relevant FAA (Federal Aviation Administration). Operators of aircraft designed for passenger transport are legally required to obtain an AOC (Air Operator’s Certificate) attesting that the airline has the professional capacity and business organization needed to ensure a safe operation of its aircraft. Following the issuance of the AOC, the relevant national aviation authority (ENAC in Italy) performs surveillance activities on operators through interventions, audits and inspections on the ground and in flight, both on a planned and occasional basis, even without notice.

The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA)

The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) is responsible for ensuring safety and environmental protection in air transport in Europe by:

• Harmonising regulations and certification
• developing the single EU aviation market
• drawing up technical aviation rules
• type certification of aircraft & components
• approving companies that design, manufacture & maintain aeronautical products
• providing safety oversight and support to EU countries (e.g. on air operations, air traffic management)
• promoting European and global safety standards
• working with international stakeholders to improve safety in Europe (e.g. the 'EU air safety list' – a list of banned operators).

The Italian Civil Aviation Authority (ENAC)

In Italy, the Italian Civil Aviation Authority (ENAC) is the primary regulatory body overseeing the private air charter industry
In the framework of EU regulations, ENAC is therefore the only “Competent Authority” overseeing the technical regulation, certification, supervision and control of civil aviation in Italy
ENAC represents Italy in the major international civil aviation organizations such as the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC), the European Union (EU), the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the European Organisation for the Safety of Air Navigation (Eurocontrol).

Since the beginning of the pandemic, Cielo Aviation is handling each flight with utmost commitment. Security personnel are working closely with our team and suppliers, making it possible to arrange flights in accordance with the new safety standards and relevant travel restrictions.

This, of course, also implies dealing with all the bureaucratic formalities to organize departures and arrivals at such a complex time, where many countries have temporarily closed their borders to prevent the spread of the virus.
