Discover Courchevel by Private Jet

Courchevel is a world-class ski resort and part of the famous Les Trois Vallées ski area (The 3 Valleys), one of the largest in the world with 600km of slopes and breath-taking views of the most beautiful peaks in the Alps. In this article we propose the most exciting activities and a stay at a fairytale hotel for your winter vacation:

By Private Jet to the World’s Ski Capital

Courchevel is a place where luxury really does mean luxury, from the perfectly groomed runs and state-of-the-art lift system to the Michelin-starred restaurants, exclusive high-end hotels and chalets, glamorous nightlife and stylish designer boutiques.

Discover landscapes that are as splendid as they are varied: one minute you're skiing through a steep forest and the next you're in vast open snowfields. Its north-facing aspect means the snow quality is excellent.

The resort is spread over five villages, each with very different personalities. We reveal the glamour of Courchevel 1850, suggest where to stay and propose exciting outdoor activities:

Stay at a Fairytale Castle

Located in the heart of the Jardin Alpin, the most elegant district of Courchevel 1850, Les Airelles offers a timeless experience. This five-star luxury hotel is a magical snow palace set in pine forests and powder-topped peaks where no wishes remain unfulfilled.

From the outside, this magnificent hotel looks like an Austro-Hungarian castle in a fairy tale. Inside, the magic remains unbroken: the beauty of the pastel-hued frescoes, the diversity of stained-glass windows, and the refinement of the materials give the property an inimitable atmosphere.

It is a wonderland that comes alive each winter and promises mountain lovers an unbeatable Alpine experience. The world-class clientele animates the Maison and turns it into the most exclusive venue in the resort. Les Airelles is the icon of Alpine luxury in Courchevel.

Les Airelles

This luxury mountain hotel provides all the comforts you could wish for right in the heart of one of the world's biggest ski areas, the three valleys. The hotel offers 37 rooms and 14 suites, ranging from classic to three-room suites with private access, fireplace and hammam. All are chicly decorated with modern conveniences.

The wellness centre Le Spa La Mer offers a unique wellbeing path and your culinary desires will be delighted by a refined French cuisine by Chef Marco Garfagnini, with a choice of three in-house restaurants as well as three high-altitude restaurants on the slopes.

Nestled right on the Courchevel slopes, Les Airelles offers a ski experience enhanced by the attention and care provided by a dedicated team. From mid-December to mid-March they also keep a private ice rink and a children's kingdom with a merry-go-round designed by Hermes. Inside, the hotel provides Airelles Winter Camp, a kids club where every detail is taken care of.

Best winter activities in Courchevel

Courchevel offers a wide range of activities which are both traditional and scenic. Here is a selection of our favourites:

Heliskiing

There is nothing quite like leaping off a helicopter and skiing down slopes that are inaccessible to the general public. Marvel at views across the Savoyard and the Italian alps before your exhilarating ski down the mountain. Each helicopter can take two people plus your guide. Recommended for experienced skiers and snowboarders.

Off-piste skiing

More athletic guests will be keen to explore the snow-capped peaks of the Alps in solitude. Accompanied by a guide, lovers of the great outdoors with a taste for adventure will be able ascend mountain passes and enjoy off-piste descents accessible only to those willing able to hike.

Snowmobile

If you love speed and adrenaline, then is this is the activity for you – and an energising way of exploring the slopes.

First-Track

If you love the feeling of skiing on fresh powder snow, then wake up early and ski down La Saulire slope before it opens to the public, taking in the beautiful views and fresh snow as the sun rises. For experts and beginners.

Sledding by Night

It’s hard not to feel joyful when you’re hurtling down the mountain in a sledge. We suggest taking a snowmobile up and a sledge down for maximum fun and minimum fuss.

Dogsledding

Beloved by children and adults alike, this is a magical way of getting around Courchevel that harks back to the days when it was a simple village high in the Alps. Particularly beautiful at sunset, the mountains and forests that surround the hotel Les Airelles will feel otherworldly behind a pack of panting dogs.

The Airelles Horse-Drawn Carriage

Explore the village and stroll through the illuminated streets of Courchevel – but stay warm under a cashmere blanket by taking the Hermès horse-drawn carriage that has been specifically designed for Airelles, along with two coachman, to guarantee a wonderfully memorable experience.

Private flights to Courchevel

Courchevel ski resort, part of Les Trois Vallées, is located 190km from Geneva international airport, the second-largest airport in Switzerland. However, there are more comfortable private jet charter options to bring you closer to your final destination:

By Private Jet to Chambéry airport

Chambéry Savoie Mont Blanc airport is a small international airport near Chambéry, a commune in Savoy. Its proximity to premier ski resorts such as Courchevel (distance 100 km) ranks it highly over the winter month amongst French and European airports for general aviation traffic (private jets and helicopters).

The airport has a dedicated private jet terminal which offers a VIP arrival lounge, a dedicated departure lounge and meeting rooms. Limousine transfers and helicopter flights to Courchevel can be arranged.

To Courchevel by Helicopter

Courchevel Altiport (IATA: CVF, ICAO: LFLJ) is an altiport serving the ski resort Courchevel. The airfield has a very short runway of only 537 metres (1,762 ft) with a gradient of 18.6%. The airfield primarily sees use by smaller fixed-wing aircraft such as the Cessna 208 Caravan or helicopters.

As the runway has no instrument approach procedure or lighting aids, landing in fog or low clouds may be difficult, we therefore recommend a helicopter flight to Courchevel Altiport only in good weather conditions.
